Sending items directly to Spaceship’s facility is only available if your items are arriving from overseas and your Shipper arranges for it to be sent to Spaceship’s storage facility. Your order must be accepted and confirmed by Spaceship.
Service Summary
The Service
- Basic direct receiving includes receiving your items at the receiving area in Spaceship’s storage facility from 3rd party movers/transporters that you’ve engaged.
- Tallying the reference numbers labeled on items received items against the shipment packing list that you’ve prepared
- Stacking your items onto pallets and stretch film wrapping the pallet before moving into the storage location
- Completing the receiving process within 2 business days after the arrival of your items (per 200 items or 200 sqft), and updating your inventory online
- Receiving during standard receiving hours (Mon-Fri, 9:30-3 pm, Saturday, 9:30-11:30 am)
Does not include:
- Unloading service, adding protective wrapping (e.g. stretch film wrap), or performing add-on services including packing / re-packing, disposals, extra protective wrapping
- Handling items that weigh > 100kg, items that require specialized handling (e.g. Pianos), or oversized items (>2.2m in any dimension)
- Tallying and inventorying unlabelled items, items not listed in the shipment packing list, or sorting for any discrepancies against the shipment packing list.
- Receiving your items outside of the arrival window, or handling your items outside of standard operation hours
- Inspecting your items for any damages that may have occurred during the shipment
- Coordinating with the 3rd party movers/transporters that you’ve engaged
Billing, fees, and extra charges
- An initial payment is required before we provide the service and will be held as credits to offset against the actual invoice
- After completing the service, you will be invoiced the final amount, which will be adjusted for any extra charges or services provided
- If actual services provided is less than the ordered services, there will be no refunds as resources have already been allocated to your order
Appointment date & arrival time window
- If your items arrive outside of the appointment date & time window, they may be rejected. Additionally, you may be billed a fee of up to 100% of the service fee as resources that would have otherwise been allocated to other orders, have already been dedicated to your order.
Sending items to Spaceship
Before sending your items to Spaceship, you’ll need to
- Book an arrival appointment date and time window (min. advance notice of 3 days) and await confirmation from Spaceship
- Prepare the Spaceship’s Shipment Packing List and submit a final version before the arrival of your items at our Storage Facility
- Paste a label on each of your item that you are sending with a reference number that matches the Shipment Packing List
- Ensure that your items are packed with sufficient protection to be moved, stored, and returned to you
- Ensure that the items you want to store are not prohibited items
- Ensure that all drawers, cabinets, and wardrobes are cleared of their contents, fridges are empty and clean
- For fragile items packed into cartons, ensure that the fragile items are wrapped with sufficient protection, and the carton is packed with the necessary dunnage
- Indicate in your Packing List if you wish for us to add basic / extra protective wrapping for your item(s)
Receiving Your Items
The receiving hours at our storage facility are from
- Mon-Fri: 9:30am - 3pm
- Sat: 9:30am - 11:30 am
We are unable to receive your items on Sundays, public holidays, and hours outside of our standard receiving hours.
When your 3rd party mover/transporter (“Shipper”) arrives at Spaceship’s storage facility, the team will direct your Shipper to unload and place your items at the receiving location within Spaceship’s storage facility.
Should you require Spaceship to unload your items from the vehicle/container, inform us at least 3 business days in advance, so that additional manpower could be allocated. Additional fees apply for providing this unloading service.
After your items are received at our receiving location, Spaceship will proceed with the standard inbound processing of your items including
- Tallying the received items against the Packing List
- Completing the inventorying process and updating the list of items you have in storage
Inventorying of Items
Taking inventory of your items before your items are shifted into their storage location is important for
- Tracking & accountability of the items we received at our storage facility
- Enabling you to retrieve specific items from storage
Our standard inventorying process includes:
- Tallying the reference number of the labels pasted on your items to the Packing List that you’ve prepared.
- Pasting a barcode label on each of your items / cartons and
- Scanning the barcode label of each item
- Creating and updating your list of stored items
If all the items are labelled and matches your Packing List, the inventory process is completed.
IMPORTANT: Inspecting your items for damages is not a service we provide. We do not know what the original condition of your items are.

Moving your items into the storage location
Your items will be placed on pallets (except for large bulky items), and stacked up to 1.8m high in stacking height. Thereafter, we will stretch wrap the entire pallet of items together to reduce risks of your items falling over, as well as to protect your items against the accumulation of dust.
Your items will be moved into the storage location in an ambient environment. If you would like it to be stored in a temperature controlled environment (additional fee), you’ll need to inform us at least 3 business days in advance. Not all our Storage Facilities have temperature controlled environment.
Service Level
The time to complete the receiving, tallying and moving of your items into storage is two business days after the day your items arrive at Spaceship’s storage facility.
Other Important Details
Liability Limitation
We do not know the condition of your items prior to you shipping them to us. Additionally, your Shipper may wrap your items or place your items into cartons, boxes or crates. We are not responsible for inspecting your items for any damages, nor are we responsible for any damages that are caused by your Shipper.
Our standard basic protective coverage for our Door to Door storage plan does not cover items that are sent directly to Spaceship’s storage facility.
Rejecting Prohibited items
If you send any of the prohibited items to Spaceship, your items will be rejected. You will be billed a penalty fee of $200 and will need to arrange for your items to be removed from Spaceship’s storage facility. If your items remain unclaimed after 2 days, we will proceed with disposing off your items, without requiring your approval, and a disposal fee will be billed to you.
No Direct Access
Our storage facility is strictly non-accessible by you under any circumstances. You will not be able to visit our storage facility to view or retrieve your items. If you want to retrieve some or all of your items, you’ll need to create an order and book a delivery appointment for Spaceship to deliver the item(s) to you.
Mandatory for Fragile Items to be Wrapped
If your items are fragile (furniture with glass, or delicate parts), we require that your items be wrapped with extra protective wrapping. This may include the use of bubble wrap together with a hardboard.
We reserve the right to determine whether your items are in a condition that is safe to be handled and stored. If we deem are not in a safe condition, we will proceed with adding additional protection at an additional fee.
Non Standard Receiving
Arriving outside of Appointment Date
Arriving outside of standard receiving hours
If your items arrive at our storage facility outside of our standard receiving hours, we will not be able to receive them. Your Shipper must not unload your items and place them in the common area of the building. You’ll need to re-arrange another appointment for your items to be sent to the Storage Facility.
Arriving after appointment window
Should your items arrive after your appointment window, and manpower resources had already been reserved to receive and handle your items, a penalty of the full amount of the service will be billed to you, as resources that could otherwise be allocated to other orders, have been set aside for your order.
Arriving before appointment window
Should your items arrive early but within the appointment window, we may not be able to provide the services that you’ve requested for (e.g. unloading service, packing / wrapping service) until resources are available. Your Shipper may, however, proceed to unload your items and place them at Spaceship’s receiving area.
Items are not labelled / no Packing List
If you send over items that are not labelled, or without a Packing List we will label your items according to our standard inventorying process. You will be billed an item inventorying fee.
Received items do not match Packing List
Over Receiving
The item(s) that are not in your Packing List will be labelled and inventoried with our standard default naming convention. An inventorying fee will apply. We will not be reaching out to inform you of the extra items received.
Under Receiving
During the item tallying process, we will note down the items that are in your Packing List but are not received at the Storage Facility. When the tallying process is completed, we will notify you of any items not received within 2 business days.
Meanwhile, Spaceship will continue to proceed with inbounding your items and move it to the storage location.
Received items are damaged
In the event of very obvious damage (e.g. shattered glass), our team will reach out to you to inform you of the damages. If your items are deemed to be unsafe for handling/to be stored, you are required to make arrangements for the item(s) to be removed from the Storage Facility within 2 days.
Received items are not sufficiently protected
If your items is deemed to be insufficiently protected, we may reject your items from being handled / moved into its storage location, unless extra protective wrapping is provided. Such service is available at an additional cost.
If your items is deemed to be unacceptable for storage (e.g. cabinets/drawers not cleared of their contents, fridge not clean), your items will be rejected. You’ll need to arrange for your own Shipper to remove the items from the Storage Facility within 2 business days.
Delays due to discrepancies
If there are delays due to discrepancies (e.g. awaiting your confirmation on actions for certain items), the receiving and inbound process will be paused. Your items will be placed in a holding zone. An overaging penalty of $20 per day per 20 sqft of space will be applied in addition to your monthly storage charges.
