Why are you increasing storage prices?
The cost structure of our storage services consists mainly of the rent we pay to landlords of our storage facilities. There are also operating costs to run our storage facilities including labour fees and utilities. Additionally, we continuously invest in upgrading our equipment for better handling of storage items, and also in software development to ensure better item tracking and management.
In the past 5 years, the rent that we pay to the landlords of our storage facilities has significantly risen. This increase in rent that we pay to the landlords, in some facilities, have even exceeded 60%.
Our prices have been kept relatively constant over the last 5 years, despite rising costs, as we have tried hard to shoulder the price increment. However, at this point, in order to continue operating as a business, the price increment has become a necessity.
What are the policies around price changes?
You'll be able to find details of the policies for price changes in either
(1) the Order Agreement that was sent to you when you signed up for our Storage Service under Section: Other Important Details | Subsection: Subscription and Service Price
(2) the Terms of Use of Spaceship's storage service under Clause 6: Storage Fees and Services | Sub Clause 6.1. You will be able to find our Terms of Use online by clicking on this link.
I would like to cancel my storage plan. How can I go about doing this?
We hope that we are still able to provide our service to you. However, if you would like to cancel your storage plan, you may do so by sending us an email to support@spaceship.com.sg.
Do take note that an advance notice period of 14 days is required prior to the termination of your storage plan. To avoid being billed for another billing cycle, you can submit your termination request 14 days before your next renewal date.
If I've prepaid for multiple periods, will this price increase affect me?
There are two types of prepayments: (1) Payment in advance for multiple periods but under a monthly subscription plan with a minimum commitment period of 1 month, and (2) Payment for annual subscription plans.
Under (1), the new prices will take effect from the first billing cycle after 15 March 2022.
Under (2) you will continue on the old prices until the last day of your minimum commitment period. Thereafter, at the first renewal after your minimum commitment period, the new prices will apply.
If you are currently on a monthly plan and would like to switch to an annual plan, the new prices will be applied after switching to an annual plan.
